Pickpocketing concentrates around fish market stalls in Mercado de Mariscos, where crowds distract visitors, and along the busy promenades of Casco Viejo where guides and vendors operate. Armed robberies are less common but have occurred near transit points like Beeline Station and in residential districts such as El Chorrillo after dark.
